Originally from Vernon, BC, Siobhan received her Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice Performance from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, where she graduated with an honorary distinction of Outstanding Performance in Voice. She also holds both a Master of Music and a Post Graduate Degree in Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Siobhan loves performing a wide variety of repertoire. She has performed lead roles in operas such as The Magic Flute, Cosi fan Tutte and The Turn of Screw. Alexandra has performed leading roles including Mimi, Musetta, and Pamina on international stages and was featured in the world premiere of the modern opera The Aspern Papers. She previously served as Voice Department Head at Trinity International University and is the founding director of Opera Kelowna, which she brought to charitable status and full membership in the Association of Professional Canadian Opera Companies. She also founded the Okanagan Children’s Choir, Cantabile Children’s Ensemble, and CANDESCA, ensembles that have toured 14 countries and performed at Carnegie Hall.
With degrees in Choral Music Education, Opera Performance, and Pedagogy, Alexandra creates a supportive yet rigorous environment that combines technical excellence with artistic expression. She draws on her professional performing career and work with artists such as Barbara Bonney, Isabel Bayrakdarian, and Dawn Upshaw to give students real-world performance opportunities, ensemble experience, and personalized guidance. Her goal is to help every student discover their unique voice and build the skills and confidence needed for lifelong musical success.
I am thrilled to be part of the warm and vibrant community at Kelowna Community Music School. KCMS offers an inspiring place where students of all ages can grow as musicians in a supportive, encouraging environment, and I look forward to sharing my passion for vocal music while helping nurture the next generation of singers right here in the Okanagan.
