Darielle Talarico

SECRETARY

Darielle has always believed in the power of the arts, and especially music, to bring people together and spark meaningful change. With a strong background in nonprofit strategy and facilitation, Darielle brings decades of experience working with governments, Indigenous communities, and civil society organizations to strengthen governance and build inclusive decision-making processes. Today, she leads Tipping Point Strategies, a consulting and research firm focused on engagement, communications, and strategic planning. Volunteers

Amy Habicht

Amy Habicht

GRANT WRITER

Amy Habicht is delighted to join the music school as the Volunteer Grant Writer. Amy grew up in a music-filled home as the youngest child of a voice teacher. She began violin at age three before finding her true fit in singing and piano. After joining her first choir at four, she continued to perform as a soloist and with choirs well into adulthood; music has simply always been part of Amy’s life. Today, she shares that passion with her husband and two young adult children, the youngest of whom studied voice at KCMS. Before relocating to the Okanagan in 2016, Amy owned and operated a successful business in Regina for a decade, honing skills in client service, operations, and communications. Since settling in Kelowna, she has blended her love of the arts with community service, working with and volunteering for local nonprofits including Opera Kelowna, InspireHealth, and Ronald McDonald House. In these roles, she has supported event coordination, community outreach, and day-to-day administration.

Ana-Maria Covaser, Member at Large

Ana-Maria Covaser

MEMBER AT LARGE

Ana-Maria moved to West Kelowna with her family in 2010. She wanted to offer her two boys the music education she knew they would enjoy, so she first put them in piano lessons. In 2015, her younger son started violin lessons with John at KCMS, and double bass lessons two years later with Meaghan. In the following years, Ana-Maria spent many hours accompanying her boys in their various musical endeavours throughout BC, watching their many concerts from backstage and witnessing connections being formed between the artists and their community. Ana-Maria became a strong advocate for early music education, becoming a volunteer for the Okanagan Youth Symphony Orchestra. Now, she is happy to be part of the KCMS family as one of the leaders of the Fundraising Committee; she enjoys helping fellow musicians and families connect and KCMS grow.

Our Board is comprised of a variety of professionals volunteering their time to the music community, for which we are truly thankful. If you wish to join our Board or support KCMS in other ways, please click the link below!
