Peter Raszka
Guitar
Tuesday
Peter Raszka is a guitarist, keyboardist, composer, performer, recording studio musician and a teacher. His musical profession spans from performing and teaching different types of music including: classical, jazz, pop, rock, Latin, and more. Peter holds a Master of Music with specialization in music pedagogy and is a long-time member of the BCRMTA (BC Registered Music Teachers Association). He has a certification in Expressive Art Therapy, Positive Psychology, Managing ADHD and Learning Disabilities from the University of Colorado. Peter is very passionate about sharing his love of music with his students and he always tries to encourage them to find their own musical voice. Peter teaches guitar, both acoustic and electric, ukulele, bass guitar and piano. He cultivates students’ interests in music education and development by teaching instrumental techniques, scales, music theory, and sight reading. He explains pitch, tempo, rhythm, and other concepts that are fundamental to playing music. He finds teaching to be both energizing and intellectually stimulating, especially in the view of the steep challenges that music education now presents. While he teaches his students to be excellent musicians and performers, he also strongly believes that music positively influences self-esteem, communication skills, stress management, and creativity for their entire life.
