Private Lessons & Group Classes

Lesson Term

Full Term is from September 8, 2026 - June 30, 2027

Statutory Holidays

Private lessons and Group programs that fall on statutory holidays may be included in the term unless other arrangements have been made by the individual teacher. Please verify the schedule with your teacher.

Winter break is from December 21, 2026 - Jan 3, 2027.

Spring Break is from March 15, 2027 - March 29, 2027.

Fees and Payment

Annual Membership

We are a community with big plans! Growing our membership improves our opportunities for grant funding. All families are encouraged to become members of KCMS. Thank you for your support!

Annual Membership fee: $20.00

REGISTRATION FEES

Registration fees are payable on an annual basis (July through June).

Registration fees for all lessons and programs are non-refundable.

Payment of your registration fee reserves your spot.

Attendance, Supervision & Instruction

ABSENCE & WITHDRAWAL
Student Absence: Our instructors are not obligated to supply make-up lessons, online lessons or provide lesson credits for student absences, including absence due to illness.

If you are sick, stay home and notify your teacher directly.

Teacher Absence: When a teacher is absent, a make-up lesson or account credit will be arranged by agreement. Make-up lessons may be provided online or in-studio, by arrangement with the teacher.

Withdrawal: 4 weeks notice is required to withdraw. There is a 4-lesson withdrawal fee for all students. Students may continue to attend the last four lessons with their teacher’s agreement.
Please submit a completed Withdrawal Form signed by the teacher and student/parent to the office.

SUPERVISION & INSTRUCTION
Supervision: It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to supervise their child(ren) while they are on school premises. Children under the age of 10 should be supervised at all times. KCMS accepts no responsibility for personal injury or damage to instruments or personal property. Parents will be held responsible for any damage to KCMS school property by their child(ren). Our rear yard is out of bounds due to risks inherent with use of stairs, gate, etc.

In-Person & Online Instruction: Instruction may occur in person or online, at the discretion of our instructors. Students must ensure their own internet connectivity and equipment is suitable to receive online instruction. KCMS teachers are not obligated to supply make-up lessons or give lesson credits for technical issues originating from the student’s equipment.

Discontinuation: Kelowna Community Music School reserves the right to discontinue the lessons of any student.

Payments

SUMMER GROUP and PRIVATE LESSON FEES
Summer fees are payable in full at the time of registration.

ANNUAL PRIVATE LESSON FEES
Annual private lesson fees are payable in full or in monthly payments from your start date through to May 15th. All accounts are payable in full by May 15th.

ANNUAL GROUP PROGRAM FEES
Group programs require a minimum number of participants to run.
Group program fees are non-refundable unless KCMS cancels the program.
Group program fees over $150 may be paid in two equal payments.

PAYMENT OPTIONS
We accept payments by e-transfer, cash, debit, cheque, or credit card. Your invoice will include payment instructions.
An NSF fee of $25.00 per cheque. Re-payment must be made within 15 days of notification.

LESSONS MAY BE DISCONTINUED IF ACCOUNTS ARE NOT KEPT UP TO DATE.

ACCOUNT BALANCES
Accounts are reviewed annually in June. Any account credits may be refunded, carried forward to the next year, or donated to KCMS (receipts issued for amounts over $50.00).
