STUDENT SHOWCASE CONCERT

Description:

Strings the Thing is an annual summer, multi-level strings program that brings together students and faculty from throughout the Okanagan as well as across B.C. for 4 days of incredible music making and friendship. Students can hone their ensemble skills through various coached ensembles and gain valuable insights and instruction on their chosen instrument from our outstanding faculty.

JUNIOR CAMP

Ages: 7 and up

Level: RCM 1-3, mid-Suzuki Book 1-end of Suzuki Book 2

Instrument: open to violin and cello students

Fee: $315 ($365 if payment is received after April 30th). Additional $20 registration fee for non-KCMS registered students.

Students will participate in a variety of musical activities throughout the day including orchestra, small ensembles, fiddle, cello ensemble, as well as other creative activities in the afternoons (art, theatre, etc).

INTERMEDIATE CAMP

Ages: 10 and up

Level: RCM 4-7, Suzuki Book 3 – Suzuki Book 5

Instrument: open to violin, viola, cello and bass students

Fee: $365 ($415 if payment is received after April 30th). Additional $20 registration fee for non-KCMS registered students.

Students will participate in a variety of classes throughout the day including orchestra, sectionals, masterclasses, chamber music, fiddle and cello ensemble.

SENIOR CAMP

Ages: 14 and up

Level: RCM 8-ARCT

Instrument: open to violin, viola, cello and bass students

Fee: $365 ($415 if payment is received after April 30th). Additional $20 registration fee for non-KCMS registered students.

Students will participate in a variety of classes throughout the day including orchestra, chamber music, sectionals, masterclasses, fiddle and cello ensemble. cello ensemble. The Senior program is suitable for advanced-level students who already have a strong background in orchestra and chamber music.
