If you ask ten different sections in an orchestra, "which musical instrument is most like the human voice"? You will get 10 different answers -- flute, oboe, or violin just to name a few. The truth is, all music is an extension of the human voice, regardless of the instrument you use!

 

That's where the title of this class comes in. Here, you will find an outlet to express your natural musical creativity in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, as we learn to "sing" with our stringed instruments. (Hence the invitation to string a song, together as one cohesive group!)

Whether you are a current student, a self-taught player, or someone who learned in high school but hasn't picked it up in years, this is an opportunity to explore magical moments of connection through music.

 

• This opportunity is open to violinists, violists, and fiddlers alike

• Repertoire will be simple, and will include a range of popular favourites to suit a variety of tastes

• Program readiness can be made through direct referral from another music teacher, or through a playing assessment by the group instructor*
